I'm not sure how the other(s) are doing, I know Oliver Boyce is playing this too but I don't know what he looks like so haven't had a chance to speak with him.

Well a quarter of the field gone, I've limped into day 2, been pretty much card dead, and the few times I've had anything there has been either better out there or I haven't got paid off :( blinds going up to 200-400 at the restart at 3 p.m and with just 2850 chips I need to be picking my spots to move shortly, 2 double ups needed to get back in touch with the pack.

Be interested to hear how others are getting on?

    Ollieboy finished day1 on 28.5k

Thats a very healthy stack at this stage - exactly ten times what I have, average is about 12.5K I think.

I've only played 1 majorish live event before and that was in
Paris, I don't know about the other tables, but the standard of play on mine was really good - much better than the average standard I faced in Paris , as the saying goes if you can't spot the sucker at the table after the 1st 20 mins then it must be you :(

Anyway hopefully Oly will do you proud and best of luck to him, anyone got a pic of him so I can say hello.

Tis a marathon, not a sprint. Believe me, tis possible to start day 2 of a deep stack tourney with no chips and win it...:)

Yeah I think that's something that threw me, the longest I've played before was all-day in Paris. This 3 day thing everything moves at such a slower pace, I was folding hand after hand after hand and after 1st couple of hours got a bit fed up and maybe got involved in 1 or 2 spots I should have folded.

Btw I got trippyh1ppy(sure a lot of you know him from tribeca) on my right, he's an alright guy but never stfu :) he's not annoying or anything as he's an interesting guy but I think maybe a bit of a distraction nonetheless.

I'm outta of it just before evening break, managed to double up early on with 66 vs 55 and caught another few hands but then went card dead again and busted out when my 88 ran into AA, I just had bout 6 BBS left at the time. I went out in mid position so there has been a fair culling all day so far.

Not sure how Ollie is doing, managed to find a pic of him after all and spoke to him briefly. I was going to hang around and have a chat with him but I couldn't be arsed hanging around when I didn't really know anybody there to speak to.

Trippy hippy is out too btw, I actually spoke to him after and he said he lost the plot with J9, managed to bust out with this unimproved.

The very one, has a few pals on blonde rooting for him by the looks of it.

You can qualify for the next on of these on GJP by the way :)

I think I'll try to qualify next time instead of buying in direct. Were there actual online qualifiers available to GJP for Bolton, I never saw one once and I checked umpteen times.

Also thanks all for your support, even though none of you have ever actually met me yet AFAIK.

Think I learned a bit from it anyway and though I don't see myself playign live too much tbh I'm sure i will do again and hope it'll help, lots of quality players there tbh. Only saw 1 player and that was today who I thought was bad.

Anyways gl to the rest of em, and must do this again and hook up with some oif u guys for beers next time round. :D

    Hi lads,

great event and will write up a report later, was playing really well and running very good up to the dinner break on day 2, than I got involved with a aggressive player when I was on 60k stack, should have flat called preflop and let it go, but want to push this player around a bit and ran into his KK, so that cost me about 40k or so and after that it was push and fold poker for me. If I had crack his KK I would have been cl and in great shape.

Anyway, will give a full report later.

    Ollie
