    Hi guys.

I'm off to London next week. It's for a job interview. They have booked me hotel accommodation for the night before, so I'm going to head over early that day and do some sightseeing. What would people recommend, considering I don't have very long to spend there? I'm staying near Oxford Street.
I'm hoping to get into the city by 11am, so I was thinking of going to the V&A and Science Museum. Would I have time to do anything else?

    Thanks

If you're anything like me the science museum would take a day on its own!

hit one of the red tour buses, londons a huge city and trying to get from one site to the next can be time consuming using public transport, the tour buses go by all the major sites and allow you to hop on and off when it suits you.

If museums are your thing then do the museums, otherwise get on one of the tour buses as lord lucan suggested.

Heading over myself next week for meetings and stuff

The HMS Belfast is on the Themes and is well worth a visit.

And by then you are pretty much by westminster. If you are considering london eye skip it. Goto tower 42 and do lunch there instead. Better views and you get a steak for almost the same price!

    dont bother with HMS Belfast

    dont bother with London Eye

    you'll be disappointed with both

    suggest

    - a stroll down oxford street
    - science museum
    - & natural history museum next door (but science museum is much better)

but agree that you'll need a full day at least to see 50% of the science museum !

Buy yourself lunch somewhere swanky, such as the restaurant on the top floor of the Tate Modern. Or go for something you wouldn't find here, such as great sushi or an authentic Indian (or English food  !).
