The best usb adapter solution seems to be from Elan Systems. They have two pcmcia to usb adapters for gprs/hspda cards, depending on the card - models U111 and U132. The site is here: Elan website . I got the U132 for a Vodafone data card 3g/grps (i don't have the hspda card unfortunately!) . The downside is that it goes about 200 euro. The best site I found is Kustom PCs

If you are with Vodafone and have been with them for long enough, you may be entitled to an upgrade to the USB 3G modem that is just recently released. If you don't have an upgrade, it costs €279 from vodafone, but is a neat solution.

Pesky pc card express slots - progress, eh ;)
