Wii text to phones

This was quoted as below but does anyone know how to do it yet?

Built into the Wii console are a number of handy features. The Wii Message Board lets you leave notes for players and even send text messages to mobile phones*. You can also use Wii to store and edit digital photos in the Photo Channel, surf the internet in the Internet Channel*, and also check the news and weather in the News Channel* and Forecast Channel*.

I've been wondering about this myself but it looks like it hasn't been enabled yet. This was actually one of the first things I checked after I got the latest update the other day.

u could just connect to the operator through the web channel and do it that way

Goto Wii Shop Channel and chose Wii Software (or something) instead of Virtual Console.

Dont all networks give you free webtexts? i know meteor and vodafone do. Just text off those sites on the internet channel.

Speaking of the channels, the news one isnt working for me. it keeps saying i need to update before i can use it which i've already done a few times. Internet is working, as is wii shop and weather channel. Anyone have this problem? Im not that bothered but would like to se what its like.

For texting phones if you look into it further you have to use the phones email address.

eg 35385xxxxxxxxx@sms.mymeteor.ie

Also, its usually reverse-charge [the person your textin pays for the msgs]
