Software to see who's on my network?

Anyone know any good (free) software I can download for my MacBook that will show me how many computers are connected to my wireless network?

I've been noticing lately that in the evening when my machines are switched off that the activity lights on my router are flicking constantly.

I know I can just check my router homepage and check the DHCP client list but I don't trust that as it's not accurate all the time.

You could try MacStumbler but that may not find who's hijacking your network - of course it may just be nobody at all, just spurious chatter on the network - difficult to know without more details. Why don't you try turning on encryption for your wireless router or at least limiting it to certain MAC addresses?

I'll have a look at that software now, cheers. Would there be activity lights if it was just chatter? What exactly is 'chatter'?

I have security enabled on my network already. I might try the Mac addresses though. That's a good idea.

    Cheers!

NetworkMagic has just had a Beta version released for the Mac.

There's a program called KisMAC also.
