Not sure if I am happy with this. Let me know what you think. Its another from the batch I took in the Costa Del Sol back in 2005 on a humble Fuji S3500.

Left following comment on the flickr stream for the shot ...

Hmm. I quite like some of your B&W work, that shot of the inside of the natural history museum is great for example. This one leaves me a bit cold. I'd like to see the original to see why you made some of those editing changes. The angel itself seems very flat and monotonal. The sky is okay, but I don't think blowing it out completely around the angel was neccessarily a good thing. Maybe a little more subtlety there might work better.

Yeah I replied to that there.

"I had the original up, its very bland and beige for want of a better description. As I said I like aspects of this but there is something missing. I'll throw up the original again this evening and you can see what you think. Paul.

Sorry to say not a fan

Cant warm up to the halo around the subject.
Would of liked to see more of the Pillar or less maybe cropped in tighter and just leave it by his feet.

Do like the grain look though.

Yes, try it without the Halo.

Its religious it needs a halo :)

Will play with it again tonight...

Love the grain, really suits the subject, adds some good atmosphere.
The 'halo' looks like its been added, would be better if it was a little
    bit more subtle.

All in all, its nice :)
