brakes on a quad

    hi lads, i have a polaris quad like this http://www.atvrideronline.com/tested/100_0304_polaris_magnum_4x4/ , its a great machine the only problem is the front brakes are crap, how do i go about bleeding them ? to see if that cures it.

    any help would be appreciated, im sure its the same braking system as a bike.

    It will probably be easier to whip off the front wheels , and prop it up ( securely )
    Have a look around the brake caliper, you will see a bleed nipple .
    Go find a foot or so of clear plastic tubing and attach it to the nipple.
    Take the cover off the reservoir on the handlebar .
    Its probably easier for you to get someone to help you now, get them to squeeze the brake lever.
    Now open the nipple ( half turn type thing) and fluid should come out.
    Close it before the lever touches the bar .
    If you have an airlock problem , you should see bubbles in the fluid in the tube.
    Keep an eye on the fluid level in the reservoir.
    Repeat the above until the bubbles disappear, then tighten that nipple and move to the other side.

    It may be that air was not your problem at all , but try that and post back
