Possible cancer?

    first off, im a lad.

    i might be over-reacting here, but i know the sooner you catch it, the better the chances are. for some reason, the left hand side of my chest is kind of sore to touch, it's been like that for a few weeks, maybe longer, i cant see any lumps or discolouration of the skin, and im not sure if it feels different to the right side or if its me just being paranoid and its only ever sore if i touch it or maybe stretch my arm or chest in any way.

    ive a good bit of flab around my chest area so its hard to tell.

    does cancer hurt????

    anyway, i know this isnt a medical forum so i just wanted to ask, is a gp the best person to go to first or where should i go to get this looked at?

    You should go to a doctor. This, as you know, isn't a medical forum.

    Many cancers don't hurt at all until you're past the point of no return. No lumps is a good sign.

    It *never* hurts to go to your GP. In the extremely unlikely event that it is cancer, you increase your chances or curing it. In the much more likely case that it's something completely minor, the GP will quickly put your mind at ease.
