looking at getting a 2mb sandisk III but saw that i could get 2 1mb cards for the same price. just wondering if it would be better with 2 cards or just the one. obviously for simplicity of one would make sense, but then if something happenend to one u still have at least another a 1mb card left.

I'd get the 2gb card. Changing 1gb cards constantly turns into a pain in the ass. Recently got 2 4gb sandisk extreme III's because I got sick of using smaller cards.

Two one Gb cards beat one two Gb imo, what if you lose the two Gb card with a few hundred images on it? Or if the card becomes corrupt? Don't put all your eggs in one basket and all that.

ya thanks for the response guys. that's pretty much my think on it too. if u lose the 2gb card then u have to fork out more money for another but with 2 1gb cards at least u still have the use of the other 1gb card. and u don't have to buy another card immediately

I would go for the 2GB card as you have stated their Sandisk Ex III which are the most reliable on the market ATM and once you treat them right they will last forever well nearly forever i think it's up near 10 years now.

    Dont store in pockets.
Always keep in protective case or camera body.
    Do not expose to mosisture.
never remove from camera when power is on.
Never remove from PC before dismounting.
Never swap from one camera body to another.
    Regurlary reformat (No Limit).

Plus even with failure most cards can be recovered either by yourself or by Sandisk under warranty.
