I tried for weeks and cud find nothing but ive now lost interest in gettin one since theres fek all on it for the moment apart from zelda and wii sports, im gonna give it a few months till theres a few games worth buyin on it.

And am starting to think wont bother, christmas was understandable but february (maybe!!!),ffs, way too much hassle to wander from shop to shop like an idiot for the privelige of buying something.

In fairness, it's not Nintendo's fault everyone didn't think to pre-order early.
And there are plenty of consoles in circulation, it's just that all the shops are getting so little quantities of them.

If boards.ie is anything to go by, if all of us had pre-ordered originally we'd still be in the same situation now, ninty really shagged the launch up by only issueing 3 or 4 machines per store on a week by week basis. Some stores still havent received one console and hte people who preordered there are still waiting. If nintendo had brought out enough machines before christmas I would have bought one during the Christmas spending urge and many parents who didnt successfully got one wuda bought one for their kids but now we've all bought other things and some of us are unlikely to go after the wii now untill next christmas and now that im thinking logically after christmas im unlikely to get a machine untill a few more quality games come out and that cud be many months yet.

*edit, now its even harder to get a wii.. argos have stopped taking reserves via website for the machine, you have to be lucky to be in the right store at the right time to get one!*

It looks like nintendo is concentrating on the japanese market at the moment. Cant really blame them though, they are a japanese company. Sony has sort of left the market wide open aswell by concentrating on the american market to battle microsoft (who dont need battling in Japen).

All in all its not really that surprising after a world wide launch.

Still waiting too - Virgin didn't have a clue when they'd get more, smyth's said Feb, Game said they got and sold a shipment already this week and expect more soon.

Just got a call from Byrnes World of Wonder in Liffey Valley. I left my name with them a few weeks before christmas for a Wii.

They have 4 available First come first serve. I already got a Wii so there available to the first 4!!! Hurry if you want one.
