Entering Canada from USA and re-entering USA from Canada - Visa ?

Firstly I've emailed both the US and Canadian embassies in relation to the following but I think it will be a while before I get a reply from them so I'm going to ask here in case someone is familiar with the situation.

I have booked a holiday in New York City for five nights in March 2007. I will be flying from Dublin, Ireland to JFK, New York City. While in the USA I would like to visit the Niagra Falls (both USA and Canadian sides).

Do I need a Visa to enter Canada from the USA (as an Irish citizen) for one day ?
If I visit the Canadian side of the falls, will I be able to re-enter the USA and return to my hotel in NYC without a Visa (apart from what is needed to enter the USA from Ireland) ?

Also, my girlfriend will also be with me on the holiday. She is a UK citizen and will be with me on the flight from Dublin to NYC.

Will she need a Visa to enter Canada from the USA (as a UK) for one day ?
Will she need a Visa (apart from what is needed to enter the USA from Ireland) to re-enter the USA from the Canadian side of the Niagra Falls also ?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    No visas required.

Entering Canada show your return flight to Dublin to show that you do not intend to stay in Canada.

Going back to the US show your return flight to Dublin to show that you do not intend to stay in the US.

Also US inmmigration will see that you have the green slip on your passport (from your original entry to teh US) and they will know you are more than likely a tourist.

The borders are connected by a bridge in Niagra, nice views from it.
