I'm absolutely dying to get a fisheye! Love the first shot, it's what having a fisheye is all about, completely normal shot, but looks so good through a fisheye..

Nice, I like the composition of the second pic, the subject in the center and the far right pull the whole photo together.

A fisheye lens is on my shopping list here as well (fecking extending by the day shopping list!).

Love the 2nd picture, the pub shot.

I hear you, I went for the canon 15mm and I'm loving it so far. Its sharp throughout and the saturation, contrast etc is spot on. It is deceptive how close you can get with it, while looking through the viewfinder everything looks far away - i ended up walking into someone on O connell Street while trying to take a shot. I thought they were a few feet back....its more than deceptive...its devlish...but highly reccommended

Cool - pics look quality indeed!!

Need to get some parking type sensors to help you stop knocking into people HAHAHAHA

I think the first one is excellent - not really sure why but it works very well. I think its the subject looks completely oblivious to the camera - it really draws the viewer in imo. Also the processing in all 3 is really nicely done too.

They are just standard shots with a fish eye.. I dont really see much at all in them. Keep shooting... fish eyes are fantastic.. when used correctly.

Indeed. I thought this one was quite good out of your the fisheye photo's on your flickr set. Framed quite nicely.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment, as for them being standard shots. I agree they are standard, but not standard for me. My people shots are always alot closer, these are the first attempt at "getting everything in" and while they do not accenuate the curve of the lens I think they show an everyday use for the lens without the same repetitiveness. (I should have named this thread wideangle using fisheye rather than fisheye...it may have been mislead some...)

Agree. That shot stood out for me too. I like the first shot here best. Really well converted and another reason to have a serious look at the 5D. I have a Sigma 12-24mm which I'd love to give a lash on a full frame.

Thanks Danny, is the Sigma 12-24mm suitable for a FF? I only ask because a 17-70 was bought for me but it is for a cropped sensor and its like vignette heaven...just something to be careful of..

It's only the DC lenses that are designed for APS-C sized sensors, all the others are suitable for full-frame. The 12-24 is a 'normal', non-DC lens.
