I just bought this laptop from the Dell outlet shop and figured I'd stick the specs up here to see if you all think I got a good deal or not. From what I can gather I got €1700 worth for €900. It was a bit of an impulsive buy but I was looking for a 640m for ages.

I'd like them to send me on an operating system disc, but there was no option to choose this, or to upgrade to a 9 cell battery. If I was to ring them in the morning would they sort this for me??

Hope its alright now! I never used the outlet shop before.

Not too sure about the battery but every system I have bought from the outlet came with an OS disc.
Did you tick the box for €140 discount?

Yep.. I did. I got a 4 year next business day onsite service package which wiped that out though. Im gonna need this fella to be reliable so it was worth it.

Seems like a bog standard 640m to me - as in, nothing wrong with it whatsoever, fine machine and all but 900 seems like a pretty standard price to me for such a specification, certainly you did not get remotely near to 1700 worth for 900.

I must admit I was thinking the same.

It's not a bad price for what you got, including the warranty, but I wouldn't have thought it was worth €1700.

I matched the details on site as close as possible and it added up to€ 1,709.70 Includes VAT & Shipping

They didn't have that exact processor and I guessed on the wifi, but it has a pricey screen and extra memory.

Urgh. Tried to paste in specs and got a load of crap. Only main difference was model name of processor. Speed and bus were same though

Yeah thats where I got the 1700 figure.. I just matched the specs on the normal website.

Still.. Im happy enough with it.

    And that's what matters most.

It still is a decent machine, don't forget that.

Yeah I spent ages watching to see would the price for a 640m with 1GB RAM actually drop a bit.. but the best I could do all over Christmas was 1200 ish.

The service warranty alone on this one cost around 160ish I think.
