When you get back to the hotel after your meal go for a drink in the hotel bar...say you're going to the toilet...leg it upstairs and get out the candles and rose petals, bubble bath, champagne and any other stuff...all pre-packed and hidden in room...get the bath running while you sprinkle the bed with petals...lash a few candles around the room, draw the curtains, turn off all the lights..put the champgne on ice and have 2 glasses ready to poor, TURN OFF THE BATH, lash in any remaing rose petals in there (on top of the bubble bath)..then leg it back down and finish your drinks and say "lets go upstairs" ;)

If she asks any questions just say you went for a dump.

if i was to set up a romantic evening for my partner it would involve heineken chilling in a bucket beside the bed, an xbox360 with the latest games, and wireless controllers, so he could play in bed, and the romantic meal would be having a kebab delivered to the room followed by a bag of his favourite jellies for dessert!.....

see i know how to treat my man :D
Jules, if it ever goes pear-shaped, give me a call, OK? ;)

OP, you've had plenty of good suggestions, so just one small thing ... remember to relax and enjoy yourself. If you're constantly worrying about everything being absolutely perfect, you'll spoil the mood for yourself and for her ...
