attic conversion on new build

    Hi all,

I'm just about to move in to a new build bungalow. We're considering converting the attic. I was just wondering if there's a time period you have to wait before modifying a new build?

We would like to put a bathroom in the conversion, the house is on mains sewage so would this get approved?

Also the contractor was turned down to build this house as dormer, so if we wanted to only put velux at the back and one standard window in the gable end at the back what would be the odds of being approved?

thanks in advance for any help.

    Saf

There shouldn't be a problem in applying for permission. It would do no harm to speak to your local planner and either an architect or technician.

The conversion will be exempt providing you put no more than 3 rooflights in the rear of the roof and no windows on gables
