Has anybody else here heard Cold War Kids - Robbers and Cowards ?

Def the best album i've heard since Band of Horses nearly a yr ago.

Can see this being a possible albm of the year, lets hope it takes off.
Reminds me a bit of The Strokes - Is This It.

Doesnt sound that similar but got that same feel of a debut album that sounds confident and is consistent throughout.

Don't know if its available here yet.

Aye, saw one of their videos on MTV2 a while back, not sure if it was the one you mentioned but i thought it sounded really good. Dont think the album is out yet, will have to keep an eye on it though

The single "we used to vacation" is pretty good alright. Getting heavy rotation on Phantom.

That Band of Horses album you mentioned is completely overrated.

That Band of Horses album you mentioned is completely overrated.

Maybe, but when i heard it it hadn't been talked up by anybody so I had no expectations.

But I can't see how its overrated when its not mentioned in press here in Europe, they haven't toured here and up until a month ago Tower Records was the only place stocked 1 copy of it.

The most overated album of last year is Razorlight or Kasabian.
Not the worst albums ever but the way they're reviewed and talked about ,and worst of all, how they talk about them themselves is ridiculous.

They compare these albums to "definitley maybe" and "whats the story.....", ridiculous.

I disagree;that Kasabian album was one of the worst albums I heard in years, uninspiring cliched horse manure.

I think I saw a little of the Cold War Kids on 120 Minutes, I'll look out for them, sounded alright.:)

Yep, that song Hang Me Out to Dry is a cracker as well. I think I'll be investing in the album. Is it out already?

The album is Ok with the two stand out tracks being We used to Vacation and hang me out to Dry. The first and second tracks funnily enough. The album wavers a lot towards the end with the lead singer continually engaging in Jeff Buckley and Jack White Impressions.

Its a good album but if at the end of the year this is regarded as one of the albums of the year I will be really surprised and disappointed as it would mean that the quality of music released throughout the year would have been fairly average.
