fitting studio umbrellas

I know theres a few people in here that know their way around a studio so I'll pose the following noob question...

I've got a set of basic elinchrom lights that I've been fiddling around with lately. I'd like to get a couple of umbrellas (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PROFFESSIONAL-TRANSLUCENT-STUDIO-UMBRELLA-40_W0QQitemZ150068961440QQihZ005QQcategoryZ3860QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem) to mess around with but I'm not too sure about the fitting. I think the diameter of the umbrella that my lights will take is 7mm, is this fairly standard with umbrellas or are there loads of different diameters I have to watch out for?

I suppose the big question is; Do I have to buy umbrellas that are specifically elinchrom or third party made with elinchrom compatibility? Cheers.

just on the matter of studio lighting, lidl are selling halogen flood lights on a tripod for 24E, i know that these are more for constuction but you could easily fit a dimmer-switch on to them and craft the umbrellas on. and for 24E its not a bad Substitute

    offer starts 11th jan

Never mind, question has been answered... The standard fitting is 8mm, whereas my elinchrom lights take a 7mm fitting. Guess I'll have to continue looking around.
