Gamecube - American Game on a European console

    hi all,

wonder could you give some advice, if any, on this...

My little brother bought a gamecube Pokemon game on eBay a week ago and when it arrived it was the american version of the game. However, as he's explained to me in the meantime (i know zip about consoles as you may have guessed already!), he has a European machine and they seem incompatible.

I was just wondering is there anything that can be done to allow him play it on his machine like change the preferences or somethin?

    Thanks for any help,
    S

The Action Replay Freeloader should let you play American games on your Gamecube. I'd sell you mine if i could find it.

Pardon the possibly naive question but can you buy this in Irish shops?

It would probably be pretty tough to find these days.

It would be easiest to get it online.

    Amazon have it here.

    thanks a million for this...

just one question tho. Does it affect the console playing European games after you've used it to allow it to play the American ones?

    Cheers again...

It doesn't. It's just a swap disk and doesn't modify the console at all. You'll have to buy it online since I'd say it would be very hard to find it in irish shops.

Just a question Retr0, does the Freeloader part of the Action Replay disc require that memory card thing that comes with it?

I went digging and found the disc in its case but not the memory card.

If you can get the Action Replay, you can play imported games, and unlock cheats for them. Or you can get the Freeloader, which will let you play imported games without any cheats.

I have the Action Replay myself, but never used the freeloader part of it.
