Well i,looking at buying a camera in the next 24hours...Im between the nikon D80 and the Canon 400D....
Everywhere i look the canon is been priced at around 900+ euros for body and 18-55mm lens but a place nearby is offering it for 800!
Is 800 a good deal? I was looking at buying online but I cant seem to find it much cheaper, well cheap enough to wait for shipping etc.....

Sorry if this was explained b4 but I just dont have the time to search anymore and thank you for any advice in advance

Why the rush, this is something you should spend some time doing more research on :)

Go out and try them in a shop, see if you like the feel of them.
For example the 400D is meant (open to correction on this) a bit smaller in the
hand that the D80. I know it might seem like a silly thing to say, but believe
me, you'll have to live with your choice :)

D80 gets great reviews, but then again I'm sure the 400D will have its pluses too.

I have a 350D. I love it to bits - and obviously I have delicate, petite girls hands so the smaller size is fine for me - but what I would say is that as long as you can hold the grip comfortably, don't let it put you off too much. I recently had a quick shot of a 400D and thought the build quality was very nice, and the screen seemed huge! A lovely camera.

A good thing about the small size of the 400D will actually mean it's more portable - half the time i just use my 350d with the 50mm f1.8 and it isn't a whole lot bigger than some non-dslr's. Worth taking into consideration. You'll use it more if you don't feel like you're having to drag a huge bag of kit around with you.

There isn't anything between the two that we can tell you about to help your decision, really - just make sure you actually hold each in your hands and see what feels right. You'll know, I promise.

I have tried both and really was happy with each,so is 800 handy enough?
