    Hi All,

We're planning on ongoing on Honeymoon in June this year and the latest plan is to go to Hawaii and then to the rockies in Canada. We're looking for a mix for tropical relaxation and seeing some great sights.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips about either place?

Hawaii sounds great, but most of the hotels seem to be big chain hotels and a little impersonal...want to feel like we're on honeymoon and not at a conference, any ideas?

    Thanks a mil!

    Pyat

Your right about all of the hotels being large chains, besides this your only options are hostels or rentals. Seeing as this is your honeymoon i take it hostels are out of the question so i think rentals might be your best bet, there is an abundance of rentals available in Maui which are very central, if you are going to Oahu you might want to rent a car as they are likely to be further out from the main attractions. Try the maui news vacaton rentals classifieds if this interests you http://www.maui.net/~mauinews/framclas.htm. Saying this i thought all of the big hotels were very well run and had nothing like the conferance atmosphere you described, so i wouldn't rule out this option.......

Thanks a lot, that seems like good advice, I was maybe being a bit harsh on the chains...

It depends, they are quite generic but are also well run and in beautiful settings, if these are your thing you won't get much better than the Hilton/Sheriton/Hyatt chains that you will find in Hawaii.
