    DEICIDE
TOURING WITHOUT GLEN, BUT IT WILL GO ON WITH A FULL SET LIST!

Visitors of the two first shows of the 2007 European tour from death metal masters Deicide might have already spread the word. Glen Benton is not with the band on their European tour due to ‘family matters’.
Nevertheless the tour, with Visceral Bleeding and Psycroptic, will go on as planned, including a full, and not shortened setlist, of 17 songs! For the first four shows the band found Seth van de Loo, mostly known as drummer of Dutch death metallers Severe Torture, as replacement for the vocals. It might seem strange to replace a vocalist by a drummer, but do not forget that Seth is active as vocalist in Centurion and Nox.

Vampire Magazine caught up with the band at their show in Nijmegen. Seth was, like so many others, unsuspecting of what happened and came to the venue at Eindhoven, the Netherlands. He came in earlier to greet some of the Polish crew on that tour, with whom he had worked together on a previous tour with Vader. That is where one of them mentioned that Seth was a huge Deicide fan, and why he should not give it a try, also to make it possible to continue the tour. After a few words Jack (Owen, guitars) spoke the words “Yeah, let’s do it” and so the tour started nevertheless in a peculiar way.

And so the fans of the first two, and coming two (tonight at the Roxy in Saarbrücken (G) and tomorrow in Baroeg Rotterdam (NL) shows will see a set brought by Deicide without Glen Benton, without bass, yet with Seth and his leaflets of lyrics on stage. Do take in mind to this, that Seth had only four hours to learn the seventeen songs! Judging on his presentation last night in Nijmegen, Seth did a hell of a job (no pun intended) and also did it very good job as frontman, without trying to be a cheap copy of Glen Benton. So far, the two shows in Holland were a great success. After the show in Rotterdam a vocalist/bass player from Poland will take over Seth stand-in position for Glen Benton, thus securing the entire European tour. Once more, the band wishes to emphasize that the fans will see a complete Deicide set, with classics and new tracks, and no shortened set list.

After Seth’s job will be done with Deicide, he will publish a short message on the site of Severe Torture on this experience. Once more, the band is looking forward to see all the Deicide fans on the road, they are fired up to go and there is no danger for the continuity of the European tour. So do come visit the Deicide-shows as intended!

No word on if people can get refunds (if they feel the need to) - I know I would since the only original member playing is the drummer!

thats coz the Hoffman brothers got kicked out for being dickheads. Owens & Santolla are part of the band now. if you want to see the Hoffman brothers play, you should have gone to see them on their last tour, tho that wouldnt have guaranteed you seeing them...jackasses...

anyway, i thought Glen was only missing the Dutch gigs. and why get your money back, have you seen the support acts?? i'm going more so for Psycroptic & Visceral Bleeding than for Deicide

oh, and for the record, Santolla & Owens > the Hoffman brothers. and if Glens word is anything to go on, Ralph wrote all of Erics leads anywho

well I would want my money back because Benton is Deicide - that would be like paying to see Megadeth and Mustaine not appearing

I honestly dont care why people were thrown out of the band. And no it wasnt just the dutch gigs - on metalireland.com it has been confirmed that Benton is unable to perform
