If I want to use the 580 off the camera hot shoe for various lighting effects, what do I need??

Lost the 580 user manual so thought I would ask on here while searching for another one.

An off shoe camera cord... should be able to find one on ebay if there arent any in local shops.

    Thanks guys,

I suppose it comes down to how much I want to spend but the wireless transmitter is handy if there is more than flash involved.

Another thought. If I wanted to have a wireless shutter release etc, where would that connect to??

The wireless receiver/transmitter for shutter release plugs into the side of a 20d (into the panel but not the same slot as where you would connect the usb cable too) far as I remember havent used one in ages.

The st-e2 is a cool piece of gear, but If I did'nt have one, I'd not buy it again. It would be worth checking out those radio devices "pocket wizards" as they dont rely on IR which the st-e2 does. I've had intermitten sucess in tricky lighting situations (pubs for gigs).

That said, then work, nothing can beat them!
