I won't be the first to suggest it I'm sure, but put something up on adverts.ie, you'll get more than from a shop by selling direct and since you're in Dublin you should be able meet whoever so there won't be postage/payment problems.

Chapters on Middle Abbey Street used to a few years back. Not sure if they still do.

Gamestop on Henry St does it for films & games. Don't know what sort of deal they offer

Rhythm Records on the south quays, Freebird on north quays and wicklow street(secret book and record shop), City Discs in Temple Bar, I think. Borderline Records in temple bar. Chapters are moving at the moment to Parnell street so they may not keep their secondhand cd and dvd part.

Only problem is you can end up pissing around with emails and postage for a single dvd, if you have a lot you want rid of it can be easier to off load to a shop.

Does anybody know which of the mentioned shops pays the best?

I think the best thing to do would be to make a list of all the DVDs then call into the shops and ask how much they'd give you for them. I don't imagine you'd get more than a few euros per DVD though. Really depends on what price they'll be re-selling them at.

Another idea would be to sell them as a collection here. A few do this refusing to split them so you only have one person to deal with. You will not get as much as selling separate but save hassle and probably get more than the shop. Price it high and let people offer lower. Many will buy as a collection even if they only want 50% of them, since the price is "the going rate" they can just sell the collection on again for about the same price. Just really cheap rental, or giving a loan or dvds out with collateral
