Why the hell were you bidding that much when there's still so much time left?
Should've waited until the last minute instead of pushing the price up...

nice specs though, tempted to throw in a bid myself.

fyi, the same specced machine on the normal outlet comes to around 1,110

shouldn't really be posted in bargain alerts since it's an auction i think, when you don't know the final price you can't really say it's a bargain, although the dell ebay outlet is one of the better places to pick up a good deal

gone for EUR 1,220 + 30 Delivery! Cheaper on the main outlet site!
looks like some people just love the trill of winning a bid!
recently an inspiron 1300 went for around 620 + delivery! when a brand new one after discounts on epp and stuff comes cheaper! :D

these days i find ebay to be worse than shops. people, having discovered ebay and everything they sell, only use it to shop. they dont even bother looking around and for that reason, stuff you would have got for a bargain price end up super inflated and useless to buy!

I don't get that at all. Do people not shop around or something?

The laptops always go for loads.. don't even bother with them.. just try the normal outlet store..

People don't really know how to bid on ebay.. the last minute hawks always get it..

Its the refurbished desktops which can be insane value..
I have bought about 4 or 5 of them already.. basically lowest costs PCs anywhere on the net.. but recently pickings have been sparse from that outlet..

I got a Dell 640m on ebay with really good spec, for 630 inc delivery, on the main dell site it would ahve cost about 1200euro, there was ment to be a scratch on it but I couldn't see any morks on the laptop when I got it.

You can get a bargan there, but yes last minute shoppers always get the winning bid, well thats what I did. As for the desktops yes you can pick up a good machine on there for not alot of cash!

You can get good deals on laptops there, ebay will bid automatically up to what your willing to pay if you want it too, so it's a fair enough system, whoever's willing to pay most wins, sniping works because some people(noobs ;)) treat it as a standard auction which obviously don't have an ebay type time limit

it doesnt say whats wrong with the laptop? like dents etc..

There's nothing wrong with systems from the outlet store. They are cancelled orders etc.

normally the ebay ones have either a grade 1 scratch/dent hardly visible or grade 2 which is more visable, the laptop above must have had no scratches I guess.

Looked at the outlet ebay stuff on the same day, decided that the offers from the main site were better.

One thing to note, the laptop I bought was €200 cheaper choosing to enter as a home user than as a 'large business'. Apparently, the entry point chooses what items are on offer and what the offers are.

The one I went for as a home user had €200 off and a hard drive upgrade...
    Inspiron 9400 Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2.0GHz, 667MHz FSB, 4MB L2 cache) 1 1,283.81 1,283.81
Wide Screen 17" WXGA (1440x900) LCD Ultrasharp TFT Display
Promo Hard Drive Upgrade SATA 120GB(5400) - SATA 160GB(5400)
Money off - 200 inc VAT
    Memory Dual-Channel 2048MB (2x1024) 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM 1
    DVD+/-RW (Read/Write) 8X Fixed Internal
    Battery Primary 9-Cell 80W/HR LI-ION
Carry case Extra Large Nylon Black/Grey (L44xW33xD12) 1.4kg
Graphics Card 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 PCI Express x16 with TV + S-Video output
Europe - Intel Pro WLAN 3945 Internal Wireless (802.11a/b/g 54 Mbps) for Core 2 Duo Processors
English - Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 including Media
1Y CAR (Collect and Return )
    No Warranty Upgrade
Was the next laptop up from the original post (which I looked at).

    €1,612.70

However, did a few upgrades & laptop bag & 9 cell battery, would have been 1388 without all the upgrades & extras.

Is the seller really Dell or is it a shop set up in dell's name.

I've seen XPS machines cheaper than that with the same spec but with a decent gfx card, but without the extras of bag and 9cell battery on the main Dell outlet site (not ebay).

Yes definitely dell. When you win you do not pay via ebay, you are emailed a code. You ring dell then and pay by c/c. I had mine about 3 days after winning the auction. Came like a brand new dell, all dell boxed, unopened power leads and all other leads & discs, all manuals, cds etc. It was higher specd than shown on ebay. It was 975 inc delivery would have been 2050 from dell new. It was about 1200-1300 on the outlet store for a similar one.

Just check out the normal outlet store to see the going rate. Most I saw went for about 100-200 less than the normal outlet store. Many here are saying it is cheaper to get on the normal outlet store, I hope they went fully through the pricing process, the outlet store DOES NOT include VAT. They will put on delivery & VAT at checkout.

Do an advanced search on ebay and check "completed listings" this gives last months winning bids.
