Can anyone recommend a soundcard, cheap enough , which will allow me to record 4-6 inputs simultaneously? Or any other device which will make this possible.

    Cheers

ESI ESP 1010, cracking soundcard which can record 8 simultaneous tracks through an external rack at <1ms latency. Can be gotten off ebay for around €200.

What do you intend to use it for?

I want to be able to multi track a drum kit into cubase. So the inputs should really be 1/4" jack or xlr. 4 mics on the kit would do I reckon. Is it wishful thinking to pick something up around the 100eur mark?

It is a bit optimistic alright, unless you pick up a fantastic bargain on ebay or something. Spending €200-€300 would be a worthy investment though, if you plan on doing any amount of recording. Have a look at the selection here - http://www.thomann.de/ie/usb_audio_interfaces.html
