Classy set alright, makes me wish I could swim ;)
The one you use as the cover pic for the set looks like Aill na Serracht (sp?), bloody impressive.

    nice shots man.
    Whats you're set up?

Aileens it is Roen. From the same day the boys refused the helicopter.

I use a 20D with a 10-22mm Canon in an SPL water housing, and a 70-200 F4L, with a 1.4x converter for my land shots.
I've been thinking about investing in the 100-400 L but I don't really like the pull push zoom, anybody any thoughts on it?

Great shots Paudie, do you mind me asking how much did the SPL housing set you back?

I just recently got mine and I really like it. The push/pull does take a bit of getting used to but its worth it.

    Paudie,

one of the thoughts on using a push/pull zoom on the beach is that it's apparently easier to get sand and grit into it. You might want to bear that in mind. I haven't used one since my fully manual days and I wouldn't actually go back to it now.

I take mainly kitesurfing photographs and I use a Sigma 50-500mm APO from time to time. I know it's not L-glass but I find I'm starting to get used to it. It's a slightly darker lens than my 70-300mm zoom but I guess that was to be expected. I've taken a couple of really nice photos with it although as I got it at the end of the season, opportunities are slightly thinner on the ground than I would have liked....

I was thinking sand would be a problem alright. I tried it out in Conns and just didn't like the feel of it, thats when I decided to buy the housing instead :D

I've seen a good few shots with the Bigma and they can be good but only if you have brilliant light like in Oz or Hawaii. I shoot to sell to surf mag's so I really need to keep my quality up there. I was thinking about getting the 400mm f5.6, but that'll be a while yet.
Let me know how you get on with the Bigma though, you might change my mind and save me a few hundred quid :)

Pretty much all of these ones were done with the Bigma and they were taken in Dublin at the end of November for comparison's sake. I lightened one or two of them as the daylight wilted a little but at least one of them is untouched by processing.

I had it out on Sat but for wind related reasons beyond my control I have nothing much to show for the trip. But I was happier about the light than I expected for January.

Sorry Exar only saw the question just now.

Including delivery it was just under €1300.

Only took two weeks from when I placed the order to when I got it as well. :D

Cheers for all the replies guys.
