Got some German photographers coming over for a weekend from a site I contribute to.

Trying to organise some stuff and looking at the rainy day scenario. Anyone know where I could rent a studio with a model, not too expensive if possible.

    Any other ideas appreciated also.

    Thanks

    T.

Dublin Studio's are probly your best bet, not too pricy afaik.

PM Morlar, he's used them a bit.

Don't forget the Guiness factory if tis raining though - great shots can be got up there!

Not sure when you need the studio for but we're working towards having our own studio available for hire from the end of January. An infinity curve is currently being constructed and we have a Bowen's Hi-Glide ceiling rail system for the 4 suspended lights. The studio, which is 10ft wide x 15ft deep x 9.5ft high is ideal for pack shots and small groups and will be available with a small leather sofa, reflectors, flash meter etc. Hire of a Digital SLR can be arranged if needed.

Studio rate will be €30 per hour.

We're near the Red Cow M50 roundabout and evening/weekend slots will be available as well. The link to a map of our location is here: http://www.digitalbeginners.ie/contactus.htm

    Sounds great.

Weekend of 27th/28th are the dates. 7 confirmed at the moment but may be more.

Give me a PM if thats of interest. At the moment a rainy day option only though.

Those Hi-Glide systems are great, you won't appreciate how good until you bring a flash head, a stand and an umbrella down on top of yourself.

    Ta Dave,

Model in this sense can be anyone, not neccessarily "a Model".

Male or older, fuller shape etc is also fine, someone comfortable with posing, being asked for different angles etc. Basically someone interesting and comfortable with themselves.

Hi Covey - if you post a thread on imapp saying you are looking for a model to work in dublin on x date for whatever hours for whatever kind of shoot it is (ie glamour/portrait or whatever) and include your contact details you will get several responses directly from models ((not going through agents who take a cut .

From their portfolios and their rates you can pick the one you think is most suitable. You may even get contacted by models looking for TFP or TCD work (time for prints, time for cd). ie no money changes hands and you let them use the results for their portfolios.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing the results. There is also dublinstudios on 67 upper o connel street if you want a central dublin studio, they are cheap and friendly - the owner can give you a run through of how everything works and if you get to know him he might let you use his L kit - some other places would charge you for that too.
