    Hi All,
Now that I have my xbox running xbmc I want to be able to bring it downstairs next to the 'main' tv. I have a wireless adsl router for my bb. Can anyone recommend a wireless bridge to connect my xbox wirelessly?
    Are these easy to configure?

    Thanks.

I'm thinking of getting one of these.
It's cheaper than other similar devices from Linksys and Belkin.

Dunno if anybody can comment on how good they are. Might just take the plunge anyway :p

Played around to day with connecting a laptop which has a wireless adapter (to my wireless bb)and a wired adapter (to the xbox. Using this guide I was able to get the XBOX online! Not a perminant solution but it proves the concept...

...finally got my wireless bridge going last night, after lots of tweaking :D

    xbox/xbox360-->WRT54GL(DD-WRT)-->wirelesssbridge-->WRT54GS(DD-WRT)--->BT-rtr(ADSL)-->the internet xbox live

    Notes.
-I wanted to get WPA2 wireless encryption going but there are issues, so the best i could do was WPA personal for the moment.
-You can also use a feature called WDS, which bridges wireless access points together, might play with that later (apparently supports lots of AP's)
-Had to upgrade the firmware on both devices to DD-WRT, very easy after that, its just enable a drop down box put in the wireless details. http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/index.php
-My WRT54GL-UK is the new open-source model from linksys.
-My WRT54GS is the older version 1.1 model (newer models are rubbish, but still work)
-Got my WRT54GL-UK from microaid.ie(was cheaper than komplete/dabs etc) - 80euro including vat/shipping, Amazon.co.uk were doing really good deals, but don't ship to ROI (thanks dick roche for that).
-Was worried about network speeds, so ran thru isp speed tests and played some rainbow six last night, all good..

So now my xboxes/WRT54GL are at one end of the house while the WRT54GS and ADSL is at the other end of the house all bridged...

Hope you didn't order it from amazon? The firmware on their ones is version 1.1, latest version is 3.0 and you can't upgrade from 1.1 to 3. The one Amazon ships lacks modern Wi-Fi features, and won't work if you use WPA. Also, you're network will have to be on the 192.168.1.* subnet or it will not work. Good luck with it, hopefully you'll have better luck with it than others I've come across!

nope, bought it on ebay. It was hardware revision 3.1 . Got it setup last night after a bit of hassle, took me a long time to get my pc to recognise the bridge. Basically needed to set a static IP on my PC while configuring the bridge.

Works great, had my first taste of x-box live with PGR2. Great fun, just need a headset now for the xbox so I can join in on the slagging

I bought a Netgear print server/wireless bridge WGPS606 for my 360 and it works a treat. Works with the netopia eircom wireless modem.

Get this from ebay. Lots available but you need to choose carefully to get a nice low price.
