Ford Focus estate exhaust

I have an 01 Focus estate that has recently started to blow a bit through the flexible exhaust coupling between the manifold & cat.

I understand that the flexible section is welded to the manifold and ford will sell you the entire piece €€€€€

Anyone know there I can get just the flexible section that I can clamp/weld in place of the old bit.

PS would it fail the NCT? (most of the time you cant even hear it)

I'm not familiar with the Focus exhaust but I would think it would be odd if the flexible section was welded directly to the manifold. Its probable the flexi section is its own piece and has a section either side of it that is clamped to the manifold at the front and cat section at the rear.

I recently had the flexi section of my exhaust on the Alfa blow through. Alfa were looking for just over €500 to supply & fit. I googled UK web sites and found a supplier willing to ship an OE flexi exhaust section to me over here for €210 all in and I got my local Advance Pitstop to fit it for €40.

Thanks for the info Lex I tried googling before without luck, the phrase "flexible exhaust" didn't produce anything worthwhile but "flexi exhaust" did. this one appears to be a welding job :(

Now I just need to work out which one of the 30 or so i actually need. any one out there know?

Just to follow up on this, finally had to get a replacement flexijoint welded in to pass the NCT.

I'd forgotton how quiet the car could be. ;)
