    The Gold Club Casino would like to thank all those who participated in the NorthWest Poker Classic in Letterkenny last Friday the 29th December.

    We had a turn-out of 60 players, well above our guarantee of 25.

    Congratulations to John Doherty who walked away with 1st place, along with €5,000 of the €12,000 Prize pool.

    The payouts were as follows;
    1st; €5,000- John Doherty
    2nd; €2,800- Vinny McNamee
    3rd; €1,700- Joe Kelly
    4th; €1,000- Tony Mc Gilloway
    5th; €700- Gareth McGlynn
    6th; €500-Shaun O Donnell
    7th; €300- Neil Quill

    If there are any players that had any problems or saw anything wrong with our structure we would welcome some feedback as there is always room for improvement.

    We WILL be hosting another event similar to this, in the first quarter of this year (around March).

    firstly i did enjoy the tournament, a few thing i would change however is maybe, make the levels longer 30 mins clock isnt terrible but for a non-weekly tounrmey i think i it needs to be longer. the ave round 3 hours in was approx 950 (200-400 25). this i thought was a bit high. secondly i would start it slightly earlier to allow for this maybe a 7pm start. thirdly i found a lot of the dealers didnt know many of the basic rules (however this is more exception rather than norm) such as keeping big chips to the front, string bets. a few of the delaers though were excellent.
    anyway my 2cs good luck with the future ones as its needed in the area.
