    hi,
i need to upgrade my phone and the Samsung S401i looks like a good offer (O2 upgrade). the features are good enough, im just wondering if its reliable, easy to use and has good battery life. up to now i've only had nokias. the battery in my 3200 has died after just over two years and low use which is dissapointing!

It's a solid enough phone. The S400i is slightly higher end, though, and has a light.

My brother has the S400i (seems to be quite similar except it's slidey instead of a clamshell) and is happy with it. It also hasn't broken in the 10 months he's had it for, which is pretty good going for something he owns :D

actually the 400i does look like a better phone. does it give decent battery life? a friend was telling me she has a samsung and the battery only lasts 2 days.

Check the functionality, even the seemingly obvious ones. The s400 didn't allow you to use mp3s as a ringtone. o2 made it worse by advertising otherwise. I think you can play mp3s on this one, but not use it as a ring tone. Handy size phone though
