After a tense night of no cards, ninja short stack poker, mad scandy player (seriously the strangest player I have ever witnessed), I got a ticket, so did Martin so yippee all round. I struggled on the Laois table for most of the night. Then with 40ish to go I get moved to a new table, with 19K. The table was tough, Flipper, nestling a short stack, few characters, rocks and mad men. Most notable hand AdKh , with a 3 way all in pot against A10offsuit Who re-raised when I called a guy who went all in for 8K with 9's. Flop comes 2d 6d 8d, 5d on turn, and ive nailed it. I have 48K, approximately, then a nicely timed pocket kings in the SB and I knock another player out and im up to 56K and went into fold mode, besides one or 2 stupid limps with pocket pairs.

Flipper was very unfortunate to go out on the bubble. He had hung in for so long. The player on his left 3 hands earlier had gone all in for 1,900 in chips. Blinds were 1.5k 3k with 300ante and I called with K9 in SB and BB Checked. We checked to the river, but the guy hit a house of tens.
A very happy trip home on the M50. I am shattered and facing a full day at work, but im so happy. If I can play the main event with as much discipline as I did last night, I will be so happy.

    colette Murphy (smurph) Ticket :D:D
    Martin O'Rafferty (RX8) ticket:D
Myles Gartland (Ace of Spades?) ticket :D
Waterford Nicky (Nic Nic) ticket. :D
Lloyd O'Farrell (Lucky Lloyd) ticket via SnG :D

Not sure of any other boardsies

On a small side note, When I got moved to the new table an Elderly English gentleman was moved to my left, in my BB. He was the nicest guy ive met at a poker table (besides Sean Fagan and of course Paddy "The Dyson" Hicks).

It was his first time in Ireland and a friend of his had paid the trip for himself and his wife to come over for the weekend, and had paid for the ticket into the Satellite. His wife plays golf so he was delighted with the golf course out the front. He hadn't played a tournament in 4 years, and had a gang standing behind him supporting him. I was delighted that he got a ticket, and I genuinely hope he enjoys the experience of the main event.

Did anyone spot the Jesus Ferguson Lookalike guy floating around last night, he was priceless, Head to toe in the Poker Stars gear, the walk everything.

27 tickets and €600 for 28th which Flipper got. 137 runners, alot of english lads over already.

They were running €150 10 seat sit n goes for 1 ticket.
and €300 10 seat sit n goes for 2 tickets.

These were running all night and were very popular. They have 150 ish already registered for the main event.

Ps if anyone is looking for a lift pm me, I am working in Parkwest (for my sins) and could pick people up at the Red Cow. I am leaving work at 4.45 p.m. today,

Well done Smurph, Martin and all others who got their tickets into this. I hope a boardie wins this, with the final table all boardies too. Bit unlikely, but you never know.

also got a ticket too. was talking to you at the end smurph briefly. will say hi and introduce myself tonight. gl all.

as an aside, there was some horrible play last night. I think i saw the funniest live hand of poker in my life when Paul the hangman roper, pushed another guy off a pot with AK on the turn when he was commited

Paul(8k) in MP raises to 300.
Lagtard (11k) calls, he went out about 33rd, which made me smile cos he thought he was the nuts. In another hand, I raised from the CO, he then looks at me and learns towards my ear and says raise aggressively. NH sir. Without doubt he had QQ+.
    Unkown (5.4k) calls

    Flop comes

    J 10 x.

    Paul bets out 1k.
    Lagtard calls 1k.
    Unkown calls 1k.

    Turn x

    Paul check,
    Lagtard check
Unkown bet 2.5k leaving 1.6k behind.

    Paul pushes all in
    lagtard folds
Unkown dweels for a while. he was getting obsence odds, and kept talking about Pauls set etc, i might have the stacks etc wrong but he was getting at least 6/1 on a call

Unkown folds and paul flips over AK and i nearly wet myself. unknown said he had a J.
