    Hi all,

    Can anyone explain the difference between the following wooden flooring types?
    • Semi-Solid
    • Laminate
    • Engineered Real Wood (as available in B&Q)

    Thanks

    Semi-Solid = a solid veneer on a substrate like MDF.

    Laminate = Plastic!

    Engineered Real Wood = real wood strips or boards cut into narrow and short lengths and glued together which gives the benefit of solid wood in terms of looks etc but with less probability of warping and twisting.

    Thanks Avns1s,

    So out of that list, Engineered Real wood is the best?

    I haven't actually seen any flooring labeled as "Semi-Solid" in the shops yet :confused:

    (I've only been looking for the last week or so)
