Street Fighter [coming 2008]

    Sorreh if this has been posted before. Another Street Fighter film on the way by the looks of it, like the first one wasn't painful enough. :(

    Oh man, another Street Fighter movie! Is this good or bad, who knows?! Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom together will produce the movie, which is being planned for a 2008 release in coordination with the 20th anniversay of the video game franchise. It's been stated by Variety that the movie's story will focus on the character Chun Li, however specific details are being kept secret. Wow, sounds fine I suppose. As long as it isn't anything like the upcoming Dead or Alive movie, and I mean, as far from that as it can possibly be, then I'm down for it! We'll have to see how the production goes, and who they cast to play Chun Li.

    The funny thing is that Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat could have been good movies, they had decent production values.

    But as we all know they were an absolute farce, MK being somewhat better although still a bit, or more accurately, totally, rubbish.

    I hope I'm the only one who thought 'psycho crusher' when you said that...
    Personally I'd be all for it once the likes of Paul W.S. Anderson is kept well away from it.

    Anyone seen the Strret Fighter anime movie? Its actually not half bad.

    The fact that Chun Li is the main character concerns me. It sounds like they'll market it the way DOA: Dead or Alive was marketed. ie: skantly clad chicks gettin' sweaty! When thats all they can offer you know the script is going to be terrible.

    I have the anime one on DVD and enjoyed it. I first saw it on Bravo a few years ago when they used to show anime then picked up the DVD.
