Valuing an old s-class

Hi Guys,

This is my first post, so hope it's in the right place! I have to trade my lovely old s-class for a load carrier but I don't know what it's worth. Anyone be able to give a ballpark or any advice?
Details: 1990 Mercedes 300se (W126)
162k miles
3 owners
Almadine metallic (burgundy) with cream leather
NCT until 20/12/08 Tax until 05/07
One slight rust bubble on wheel arch. Not major.
It was used as a limo for a couple of years (by me) but only as an
back up car. Advantage of this is that it has full history during my
ownership. Every piece of paper.
Previous owner kept it with Greenmount Motors in Harolds
Cross (who are great mechanics!) as have I, so history is
verifiable for last ten years. Before that it was in Galway.

Any ideas?

i'd be asking for 5k- 6k, make sure you bring it for a valet before you trade it in, increase your chances of a better sale.

I'd say you'd be doing very well to get between 2 and 3 grand for it tbh, they're in limbo land at the moment, neither classic or modern and most don't want to pay high road tax for a car of that age. I'm not knocking your car by the way, I had loads of them and always liked them, in fact I'd go so far as to say they were probably the last good Merc.

Yeah as the lads have indicated they can be viewed two ways, as a 15 year old banger, or as a high quality luxury car !

There are guys in the Mercedes Benz Club who love these W126's and they would be your best bet, assuming the car is a good one, if its scabby they wont bother !
