Ok people I have emailed Dudley at the Castle to enquire about this date to bring a group down. This is the only date I am available and it will be the last trip I organise for the foreseeble future due to family commitments.

I would like to have a group of 12-20 people for this trip which is bigger than any I have had before.

Its a Saturday and the plan is to arrive at 6pm and leave the castle by 11am the next morning.

I'd like to get a list of all interested people on this and we'll see how it goes.

Please note this hasnt been confirmed but with the short notice I need to be prepared.

    6th

Well, I'm interested, but I need to have the timing exact, would only be there for the weekend, and I'd be heading to Charleville straight from the airport, so you wouldn't get your books till March/April :S

Edit: Then again, I could book an earlier flight and get them... I'm gonna wait till next week to book the flight, may just go on Friday, then head back home late on Sunday... I'll think of something...

Lou that came with us on the last trip to Ross, rang me and said she could make it down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Yeah, I text her about it. Though its not looking great for the numbers and the Castle havent confirmed yet so this might be a no-go.

Maybe people will start popping their heads up, or would a smaller group not be possible?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

I wont do it with less than 10 people.

I'm only a newbie in here but might be interested in a trip to discover paranormal happenings in Charleville Castle. Does anyone know what we might be expecting to find?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

We've done a few trips before jawlie and we keep it casual, the thing about paranormal trips is always the chance that we get nothing (on film, photos or sound) but I think its safe to say noone has ever not enjoyed one of the trip and come away with some experiences.

Anyway, seeing as I am bowing out of all this for a while I'm gonna have it as a large group so the more the merrier.

The only thing I dont want is people screwing me over and not turning up or pulling out last minute.

I should able to make it along.

I'll let you know for sure in the next day or two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

We seeing as you usually have an extra someone in mind I'll say 'the more the merrier' before you even mention it!

Please read if you are interested in going on this trip!

    Everyone should bring:

    1) Dark warm clothes with no illuminous or reflective stripes - they show up in photos and can be confusiong.
    2) A torch
    3) Snacks
    4) notebook and pens
    5) a watch

People can feel free to bring any things they like, along the lines of cameras, audio recorders etc. If you are bring any equipment please make sure you have plenty of batteries and film etc.
Would someone be able to bring a small first aid kit?

I do not presume that anyone has any particular equipment and it is not nessecery to have these things to come on an investigation. The idea is that these trips are for people with an interest in the paranormal and there is no pressure to run out and spend money.

Also very important, if anyone suffers from asthma, epilepsy or anything else please bring any medication you need and let me know in advance.
Last thing we need is someone dropping to the ground in convultions and someone jumping in with a do-it-yourself exorcism!

Could we add anti-spaniard spray to the list?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

It wont be needed, I asked if we where the only people there that night and I was told another group was interested. Luckily though (thanks to Terri at the Castle) they should be joining in with us, actually one of them was on the murder mystery night we shared the castle with before.

    Ok here goes:

    Charleville Paranormal Event

    Date: 27th/28th January 2007

Arriving at Castle by 7pm on Saturday & departing by 11am on Sunday.

Cost: €25 - this VERY LOW price is for roughing it and with doing some cleaning of the Castle. There will also be a small fee of about €3 or €4 per person to buy provisions such as coal, firelighters etc.

    People confirmed:

    6th
    kshiel
    Stoner
    Monkeyfudge
    dib
    Sarah +6

Thats 12 so far and I'd like to have 20.

Havent heard from some of the regulars: Stevenmu, Ladybirdirl, Grimes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

Yep. You can put me down as a definite.

I spoke to Thomas about it today as well. He's interested but he'll have to see if he can make it or not.

So we will need to bring sleeping bags etc, I was planning on bringing a blow up bed as long as I have access to an electrical point. On utilities in the kitchen, is there a microwave? Planning to eat a little bit healthy this time. Excellent on the price by the way, and when you say cleaning do you mean scrubing brush and marigold gloves?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Yep, bring sleeping bags people, I've spent many uncomfortable nights in this castle and always forgot one!

Not sure the type of cleaning just yet but Dudley asked that we leave the place 'better than we find it' ... and with price so low its only right too.

    People confirmed:

    6th
    kshiel
    Stoner
    Monkeyfudge
    dib
    Lou +2
    Sarah +6

We're up to 15 people now so I'll be closing it off soon enough.

Hey of course Im always game.

Apologies about the alternate persona but this is Grimes. Thanks for the text 6th.

Also my car is open to 4 people who need lifts from Dublin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

I'll take one of those spaces in the car 'Pantsless"? Will be needing another place on this too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,633 ✭✭✭stormkeeper

I'll arrange a flight over sometime this week, after I've spoken to my mum and priced the tickets up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 412 ✭✭dib

I would appreciate a lift if anyone is heading from Dublin. Will throw in €€€ for petrolium etc. I'm based in Tallaght but can make City Centre. Failing that I'll look into train/bus times and post them here.

    dib

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 412 ✭✭dib

Yes yes! Grimes I would appreciate a lift. As I said, I'm in Tallaght so I can meet there or the City. Tis no hassle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,934 ✭✭✭✭Stoner

    grimes here ....

Tallaght is where I usually meet that mischevious 6th (hanging around the cinema playing conkers and generally hassling kids for their lunch money) so thats fine I guess. I may be able to fill any spare charleville slots if they are going begging . Let me know

    Graham (its easier)

note to first timers - seriously dress warm
