    feb 7th in US.
    feb 11th on sky one.

don't think rte have set a date.

well they were pretty desperate to get it ''first in europe'' when it started[season 3] =even to the extent they lied about being the first[sweeden was] but 3 days?rte wont be able to manage that...........

I think RTE are going to cut their loses and put it on Monday 12th Febuary, one day after Sky One.

I just don't think they are going to try and put it on a Thursday one day after ABC. It probably seems like too much effort for them. Jericho airs in Australia 24 hours after the US.

    Dear ,
Thank you for your e.mail. The 'Lost' series will return on Monday, 5/2/07 on RTÉ Two at 22.00hrs.

With every good wish for the new year.

Lost returns in the US on Wednesday Febuary 7th so RTE must either have a recap show or have the date wrong i.e. it should be the 12th. Either way it will be on Mondays and Sky One will air it before RTE2.

so.........which will everyone watch on? for me its sky 1,cause of the teamup[ its on straight after 24]

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

i'm gonna be tuning in anyways on the 5th.

you'd never know rte could air it first lol.

I haven't watched RTÉ or Sky One's showings since Season 1. I'm aware of those irritating Lucozade ad things on RTÉ (they would actually be reason enough to avoid RTÉ), but is there anything similar on Sky One?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,026 ✭✭✭Killaqueen!!!

I was just thinking that RTE might have had a trick up their sleeves seeing as theiy're showing Desperate Housewives on Tuesdays (the day Lost was on for the first 6 episodes of series 3) but no...they're just showing it on Monday :(

I want to support RTE2 and tune in on Monday, but to be honest, it's not worth the 24 hour wait :p...plus those damn Lucozade ads......it's Sky One for me :) CAN'T WAIT!

take away the lucozade ads for a minute

    rte has 3 adbreaks
    sky has 3 adbreaks

but rte adbreaks are shorter..........................but the 24 hour wait plus 24 is no errisptable for me

You can't possibly compare RTE ad breaks to Sky One ad breaks.
Does anyone know how long a Sky advert break actually is? Cos it's a hell of a lot longer than RTE, that's for sure....

really? haven't noticed. Does it really matter though in comparison?

Try watching American tv now that is long ads.

I always used to think that Sky ads were ~ 5 minutes, while RTÉ ads usually weighed in at around ~3minutes. However, in recent times, RTÉ have grown fond of bombarding us with ads during their high-profile shows!

I'll be watching it on RTE. I can wait the extra day:D

Could RTE have pulled off the coup of the century?

This is RTE remember. This is probably yet another recap show. This is just another case of bad scheduling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,472 ✭✭✭AdMMM

I'm guessing that it will be one of the Lost specials. Can't think of the name of previous ones from the prior seasons though.

RTE cant have got them ebfore the us.

    Ah you'd never know.

I mean, it would obviously be great business sense for ABC to allow their most valuable show to be shown somewhere else first.

We can probably expect s03e06 again to get people back in the mood, that or a recap show.

but 'common do you really think ABC would give there TV shows to a foreign Irish network, before THEY show it?!

Of course they will sure we're only a pile of leprechauns begorrah we wouldn't have any access to such technologies as computers to tell americans what it's about for at least a week

Any updates on when the 2nd part of the 3rd series will start on RTÉ for definate yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 515 ✭✭✭steve 0

Well the theory something Lost will be on Feb 5th fits well as The Panel is finishing on 29/01 and the new RTE drama Trouble in Paradise is 30 mins long for episodes 2 - 6. There is no chance it will be a world premiere of a new episode.

It doesn't make sense that they would let Sky get the jump on them, even if it is 24 hours. They specifically said they had the option to the European premieres.
Why can't they fit it in Thursday, Friday or Saturday?
Thursday @ 21:00 would be perfect in my book :D

as far as I remember RTE has only 2 ad-breaks, and the full program
including ads runs to just over 50 minutes, whereas SKY pads out
a 44 minute program to nearly a hour!

Yep and there is no listing for Lost on RTE2 for any day up to Saturday Feb 10th (latest day for listings currently available). So it looks like it will be back on Monday Feb 12th ...

    Hi there,

Just read about 10 secs ago on Lost Media.com that Lost will return to RTE 2 on 12 February 2007.

Its called the survival guide. Doesnt say what this means but Im sure it is a recap of what happened in early season 3 or a replay of one of more episodes.

The regular show follows each Monday at 10.05.:D

Looks like Sky won this time round but Ill have to wait for RTE 2.

    Suzi

I think most people will stay with RTE2. It was predictable they wouldn't change the timeslot to Thursday, a night were they need to improve.
The best thing about them airing so close is there are plenty of opertunities to watch it. I just hope that ratings don't fall and RTe give up and banish Lost to a crappy slot.

    As confirmed by radiotimes.com
    Lost: Survival Guide 20:30-21:20
    Lost 22:05-23:00
A whole 24 hours after Sky 1, there's gonna have to be some very careful people @ work every Monday :(

This is again confirmed on RTE's own website.

Apart from them possibly not been supplied in time for a Thursday night I don't see why it would have been a bad idea. They aired the latest series of The Sopranos in this slot and they would now have the lead in from Ugly Betty's new time.

    Not another recap :(

I'll be sticking with RTE though.

I don't think I can stand another second of those Lucozade ads!

smeh.........sky 1 ads are longer.......to be honest it balances

i shall watch on sky 1..........properly...............the only thing putting me off is the fact 2 of my fav shows are on in a row[this and 24] and i just wouldnt be able to take 2 hours of sky 1 programming[ad-amming i like to call it]

    Here's the line up just to avoid repetitve questions;

    Monday Feb 12th 2007 :

    Lost: Survival Guide
    8:30pm - 9:20pm RTE 2

A look into the back-stories of the award-winning drama's major characters, including interviews with show producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

    10:05pm - 11:00pm

Lost 3x07 - Not in Portland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 888 ✭✭✭Kanney

Brilliant. I'm gonna watch the Not In Portland on the 8th, then I'll stick to Rte 2. This is great news!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 685 ✭✭✭darrenh

for some strange reason lost on sky one is weird. ill be sticking to rte. sky one just cheapens it for me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,026 ✭✭✭Killaqueen!!!

    Ah it's a shame..

I almost thought that RTE would pull off something and get Lost a few days earlier but no worries. Sky 1 suits me :p

there has been plenty (think 6 or so) on youtube.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭qwertplaywert

nop and i dont plan to.those us tv show trailers give too much away

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

Well I will not be waiting for rte or sky to show it but if I did I would avoid sky at all costs because ads are annoying but even worse there trailers are horrible, they literally give away everything that will happen in an episode. It drives me mad.
But then again I despise all spoilers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭qwertplaywert

but tbh i cant aviod watching sky 1.........24 is on it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Same here, those ads give away far far too much. As do the "Next episode" things at the end of some of the american ones!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

Hence why I would refuse to watch it. It always amuses me when people watch the previews and then watch episode and say episode wasn't as good as preview suggested. Stop watching the previews then!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭qwertplaywert

i hate the way channel 5 show the american next episode preview thingly at the end of very prision break ep
