    Hi all,

I have just jumped on the scales after my xmas pig out and find i havent put on a single ounce of weight. I weighed myself about 3 weeks ago and again today, in between time i have consumed lots of beer, fatty food and chocolate with no weight gain. Excercise during this time was non existent. Could my metabolism have increased?

    X.

It helps if you give an indicator of activity levels and diet before the Christmas freak out you had?

If you were over training and undereating, then yes, you can get away with a few weeks of eating garbage due to metabolic repair and dulled insulin responses.

I've been letting myself go over the last couple of months, and TBH I've just become, well ... soft! Xmas has just made things a million times worse - I've ignored the gym as well as my diet. Well, I took some 'before' photo's last night and almost cried myself to sleep - the best motivation ever!

My job involves a bit of activity, nothing major. I definately wasnt over traininig and undereating.

what was your exercise regime like before christmas as it may be that you lost some muscle mass and put on some fat at the same time

I drank a good bit of beer but very few carbs from other sources, continued to take my supplements etc and manged to get to the gym twice in the ten days i had off.I expected to become as fat as a fool from the beer but it just didnt happen, added to that my arms and shoulders managed to get larger over the holiday too!You never can tell...

The BF% is important to measure, I went up to above 12stone 8lb the day after stephens from about 12st 2lb, then went on an extreme bender and was sick from drink for 2 days, couldnt really eat so dropped right down again! today I was under 12stone. Think it is a combination of a full colon and belly, and my cheapo inaccurate scales!

I should have taken readings with my calipers at the time but couldnt find them.

Was 86 or so with a week to Christmas. Then from travelling, training and partying i think my system had an exhaustion breakdown. Dropped about 5 or so kgs coz i couldn't eat. Back to about 83.5 now or so but looking damn toned. In the right light my abs are finally there and thats without being metrosexual thin too! :D

Edit: Odd, my brother is the only other one to talk in kilos here..... Go metric folks!
