Eating habits around training

    Hi

Just wondering what peoples thought's are on whether it's best to eat before or after training? Does this depend on what kind of session I'm doing, with it being best to do weight training following food while doing a cardio session with less food on board.

I generally do my workout in the evening after work having had some food. I start with my weights programme followed by some cardio work at the end when I'm not feeling as full - is this correct? Also what are the best foods to be consuming before a workout?

As a final question, what is the optimum rest period between workouts? Is a day sufficient recovery time between an upper / lower body weights session or is twice weekly sufficient?

The sticky posts above will help you. Many have varying opinions. Some say do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach others disagree.

Most will agree you should take protein immediately after a weights session, some say before too. Take simple sugars before the weight session to boost glycon levels.

I think everybody will recommend doing weights before cardio.

Many will disagree on timing between sessions too, it is really up to yourself there are plenty of articles linked in the stickies.
