I'm trying to get spilled port out of a beige/creamy carpet. Tried carpet cleaner 5-6 times and it's still there. Anyone have any ideas? It's well dried in by now.

Salt works when the stain is fresh. Not sure if pouring table salt on now would have any effect particularly since you have used other cleaners but might be worth a try putting a little pile of table salt on to the stain. If you had done it immediately after it happened you would have no stain now. Works for red wine too.

I did this a few years ago too. Salt (lots of it!) straight away while still wet did most of it, but found that a spray called Vanish! took care of what was left.
