Wood Mounting Prints

    Hi All,

Is anyone aware of somewhere in the Dublin area that can put large prints (say greater that 20" wide) onto a wooden mount?
I've seen this effect in countless bars (Winters in Dundrum being one) and I've love to try it out for large prints at home.

The process is that you have a wooden surface around 1cm thick, then a thin layer of tissue, on top of that goes the print and then finally a very thin layer of film to protect the print.
The wooden mount is then hung as it is. No additional framing is required.

I cannot find anywhere that does this but an example of it is available to see here on Art.com

If anyone has any info it would be really appreciated as I've love to give this a go.

    Thanks all,

    Dave

    HI Dave,
I got some wood prints done in a place on Pearse St, Dublin called (I think) Woodprint. I got 10x8 prints mounted and they look really well, they want 2 copies of each print and will have them ready in less than a week. Cost was €15 each. They're in the IDA enterprise centre at the Ringsend end of Pearse St just before the bridge over Grand Canal basin.

Excellent. Thanks for that. I'll check them out for sure. :)
