Can't find this in previous queries, but can one use a third party HDD recorder to give Sky + features on a standard Sky box such as pause live, record.
I presume you would need two feeds from the dish also.

I have a seperate DVD recorder that I use to record sky shows. I can "pause" by starting recording, and the recorder has the ability to play and record at the same time, so I can start watching without having to stop everything. I just plug the sky into my recorder, then the recorder into the tv.

It does mean I have 3 remotes, (tv, sky and DVD) and to set up a timed record I have to program both sky and the DVD recorder, but it works, with just the one sky feed, and not too many hassles. The DVD recorder passes through the signal when it is not recording, so you can view live stuff.
