New PES6 is now reading as 'unreadable' in the drive even though it has been sitting in there for the last couple of weeks untouched by human hands. Hasn't even been played that much. Did the usual ... cleaned, restarted, deleted saved games, etc. Anyhting eelse anyone know I should do before bringing it back?

I take it that there are no really obvious scratches.
There have been a few games lately that have been reported like this.
GOW and R6V come to mind.
As far as I know you're best off just returning the game.

I remember when the xbox was first out the drives used to get a bit hotter than they are now, and sometimes people found it caused discs which were left in the whole time unreadable because it expaned and contracted the disc a little from going from hot to cold which damaged the disc.
But you are better off just taking it back to the shop for a new disc

Yeah, thanks guys ... rang the shop today and they said just bring it back in for a swap. As long as it's not indicative of a hardware problem I'm ok with that. Only problem now is that I won't be in Galway for a week or two and I'm not sure how I'll survive without my footie fix (translate that as getting my ass whooped in every online game). BTW, bought the expert guide for PES6 ... brilliant.

Who needs an expert guide unless you're really bad :p

Although it happens with GOW mostly, it also sometimes happens with Burnout (which was just bought last weekend).

And I bought my 360 in August!! :(
