    Hi folks,

I've been reading this forum for a while now but had nothing to add to it until now. I hope I have the right forum so please direct me elsewhere if I don't.

As I don't smoke in my house at home (the kids), I was outside one night over the Christmas having a cigarette. I happened to be looking in one particular area when there was a flash in the middle of the lawn. The only way I can explain it is that it looked as if someone had turned on a off a flashlight really fast. In the second I saw it the flash looked to be concentrated in an aread that was no more that 10 ft long and about a 1ft wide. I then thought that maybe my wife was messing with the digital camera but she swears she wasn't. There was definitively no one in the garden and as far as I know there was no lightning in my area that night.

Anyone came across anything like this before or perhaps someone might attempt to explain.

    Thanks in advance,

    H

I've heard a few stories like t his over the years and usually people will explain it away with reflections from lights passing on a nearby road. I dont really by that for alot of them as the observers are adiment that their garden is in such a position that this isnt possible.

Look around and see if there is anything which may have reflected a light source onto this area.

    Welcome to the Forum btw.

    Hi 6th,

Good to be here. Very interesting forum with a lot of good reading in it.

I've tried to reason with myself that it was a reflection off something, however I still cannot explain. No cars were passing at the time as I'm right beside a country road and could see if any cars were passing. Sure if it happends again I'll update.
