    EDIT - my bad, I forgot to mention its a Canon 20D (thanks Calina)

    What kind of a camera is it? Someone told me there's a Nikon person in the country who can probably have a look at it, and I think Conns will take in Canons but they may have to be sent away (my mirror needs to be cleaned and probably my sensor too)....;

    I do my own, I have access to clean rooms in work though :) If you're down these parts let me know.
    Otherwise Canon do 1 free clean and then charge you from then on. Conns charge €50 to blow it out with compressed air :confused: and :eek:

    Aargghh. Methinks time to find Rymus' tutorial on how to clean a sensor then. Although I really need to get stuff cleaned off the mirror and inside the viewfinder (don't ask me how it got there and don't ask me how the sensor escaped cos I really don't know)...

    Thanks Roen, appreciate the info and offer.

    Just out of interest, would the camera need to go to Canon Ireland or UK??

    I use the Copper Hill method and find it perfect and not half as daunting as it sounds.

    i too have a huge dust collection!
    would the prices here be ok or has anyone got info on where it'd be cheaper in Ireland?
    Bermingham Cameras

    I'd like to clean the sensor before the Castle meet.I presume an Irish supplier would have it to me faster than outside the country.

    Honestly no idea, it was on some of the documentation I got with the camera.

    One of the camera shops (can't remember what it's called but it's the one in Blanch Shop Cent) told me they'd be sent to the UK if they were going to Canon.

    Correct - spoke to Cannon in Dublin and they said the cameras are sent to the UK to be sorted, they dont do anything with them here in Ireland. When I asked how long it would be before I got my camera back, I was told anything between 3-6 weeks (SHREEEEEEEEEEK)

    Someone also mentioned to me that there was a good Nikon tech in the country who could probably be trusted to clean the sensor however with the caveat of guarantees and stuff.

    If I remember rightly, though, the Canon site also gives instructions for how to do it yourself, although not all that indepth.

    send it to me.. I'll clean it in a shorter turnaround time than 3 weeks :D
