right i love all the commandos titles and and have been playing a lot of generals of late.

was a bit disappointed with age of mythology and thought romoe total was was a shambles.

looking for a new game that'll keep me tested for a while but am at a loss at finding anything that could keep my attention for a decent while.

    thanks!

right i love all the commandos titles

If you like Commandos and Generals

then Company of Heroes should be a match made in heaven.

Build armies ala Generals, but control them like Commandos, your troops are more versitile then the avergae RTS and usually fufill multiple roles, Tank combat is much improved over any other recent RTS.

Its a shoe in for Strategy game of the year over on the awards page and has already walked away with the strategy award on most other websites this year.

bought company of heroes with dawn of war free a few days ago.

quite impressed with coh but only just getting to grips with it. it seems challeging enough thus far which i suppose is a good thing really. i' ve next week off so ill get a good run at it.

i was bewildered at how dawn of war managed to win game of the year. it didnt grab me yet but i'll give it another shot before i compleatly write it off.

I thought Company of Heroes was an interesting Dawn of War mod but little else. In terms of single player gameplay I prefer Faces of War. However I realise I'm alone in my opinion, so very, very alone ;)

Am I alone in not being overwhelmed by CoH? Perhaps I shouldn't have gotten hooked on "Soldiers: Heroes Of WW2" which allows much more first-person play. Even though it came out in 2004 I always go back to this game. Supposed to be similar to Commandos.
I recently got the sequel, "Faces of War". Only played it a few times, but am disappointed that its trying to ape CoH. To much AI going on, not enough opportunity to control individual units, unless you want to give yourself RSI with non-stop clicking and pointing.
