Am considering getting something like this:

As the dish is pointed at 28.2E for BBC, ITV etc, are there any channels I would be able to receive from "neighbouring" satellites that would be worth the investment?

    Thanks lads.

Depends on the reciever and what your after, regular sky box is pretty useless for other sats. Loads of channels on Astra 19.2e and Hotbird 13e (a 20deg spread should bring in these if set up properly). I put up a 2nd dish for 19e & 13e and a separate TM1000 receiver.

Have a sky box but that's going to be replaced some time this week with something more generic.

I'd primarily be interested in stuff like Discovery (which I believe is FTA somewhere) and so on. And maybe movies. But I don't want to go to the bother if I'd only get one or two decent english language channels.

    Hi
Get a cheap motor for your dish it will give you alot more channels and i would recommend a technomate 1500.It is a great reciever.

I don't want to motorise the dish as it's shared by 3 receivers and a PC (quad LNB).
