Paypal credit card propblem

okay,ived bought ebay stuff using paypal lots of times,but the oher day,when trying to pay for something,this came up:
This payment cannot be completed because your credit card has been denied by your credit card issuer. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. You may want to try using a different credit card or choose eCheck instead. To do this, please click the More Payment Options link.

what is going on?has this come up for anyone else ever?

Ring them. This can happen if your delivery address is different to your billing address. Or your over your limit!:p

Try paying 'manualy' ie fill out the money transfer page rather then using paypals automated process. I had a problem (though not as you describe)
with the auto and it worked when I did it manualy.

This is probably a security thing automatically set by your credit card issuer. It happened me once before as I had purchased a lot of things on eBay and the card was stopped. I just had to ring them and let them know my purchases were mine and I could use my card again. It is good to know such a feature is in place.

im thinking maybe one of the following:
ruu is a good bit right- alot more stuff wa bought with credit card this month than usual so maybe they see it as supious action?i wouldnt think this cause ,hey its christmas!

or my other though- because i have not bought anything on ebay in like 6 months and suddenly i buy something and they dont think thats not supiouis?



what course of action would everybody recommend?

Has the card number changed recently? Check that the numbers/3 digit code at the back match what you have registered with paypal. It's possibly they've had a new card/card number in the last 6 months.

After I spent about 400 euro on two items in 48 hrs Paypal actually phoned me just to check it was me spending all the money. I was suprised at this so suprised I forgot to ask a few questions about the call. Anyway it suggests they are being very careful right now.

i had the same problem a few days ago. credit card worked fine for buying anything else so i vertifed it and then it worked :cool:

but mine[ro my parents to be presise] is verifed.........its been verifed for months

i think u have to take into acc a few things
i had the same prob and it is due to the fact that its maxd out
u dont have to consider only what u spent recently but also what u spent and it hasnt been paid yet
when u get the statement the amount at the end wont be collected until another month so if that fig + what u spent after goes above 850 e ( with a student cc like i have myself) then they block it

if ur in doubt i would ring the number at the back of the cc and they will explain to u whats wrong
