I woz wondering why my thread woz closed b4 i could reply? Maby it was because you guys were fighting so much. I apreciate the advice but i think you got the wrong end of the stick.

I have been playing for at least six months and I hav a exelent teacher and i do agree simple is gud i hav been trying convince my bassist to do simple stuff but he thinks he is too good for simple but he will come round.

My point is that I want to get better and to do so i must practice what im given yet it wud be nice to stick in a sixteenth on the bass drum to keep up with my bassist in a song or two. and im thinking a double bass pedal would also improve my hihat skills the quality john boneham is famous for.

So wat im asking is what bass pedals people have and their experience,
    thanks again for any help.

Folks, pay attention. This thread is about

"what bass pedals people have and their experience". Let's keep it at that.

Bonham never had a second bass-drum or double pedal (they weren't invented at the time), but he did have a lightening fast right-foot.

There's a number of very good instructional DVDs around for playing double-bass.

You can fake a 16th double-bass beat by alternating beats between your right hand on the floor-tom and your right foot.

There's also techniques of playing whereby you use the recoil from the spring-back on the pedal to play very fast using one foot giving you a flam or ruff like sound.
