(Another) Freeview Query.....

If this is the wrong forum mods feel free to move,

I purchased a R7 Samsung TV and it has DVB Built in to it, it picked up (through the bog standard NTL cable) RTE1, 2 TV3 and TG4 and 14 other radio stations with a perfect digital reception, analogue looks piss-poor on the tv after watching these!

After a day or two the tv seems to have lost the reception of these channels which is a pain in the arse (I know NTL were doing work in the area) but terrestrial cable is fine....

I see theres a slot for a CI card, if I buy one of these will this improve the reception and give me all freeview channels? Ie Film 4, bbc etc? or is there a card that does this?

    Cheers in advance....

    byte

What you were picking up is the DTT trials from 3Rock.

A CI card will not improve reception or add any additional channels at this time, if ever. That may be of use in UK for Freeview's PayTV service Top-UpTV.

To get UK's Freeview, you need a strong signal from a UK transmitter that is carrying DTT signals.

See the sticky's on the DTT trials on the top of this forum for further info.
